In the Sand

At the Pool

The kids had so much fun in the pool! Alivia's favorite part was jumping in Daddy's arms. Notice Alivia's curls in the last few pictures. She decided early in the week that she only wanted to wear her hair down. It was so cute. :)

A Walk on the Beach

The View from our Balcony

Our hotel had 5 pools and 3 hot tubs. The lazy river was an added bonus, but Alivia really enjoyed playing on the steps of the pool most of all. It was nice to have such easy access to the beach as well. The kids loved the sand. More pictures to come!

Leaving Indy

We took our first vacation as a family of 4 to Myrtle Beach. I can't believe all of the things you take to go for only a week! Here we are leaving Indy to fly to Charlotte, NC. We had 3 suitcases, 2 car seats, 2 kids, 2 backpacks, 1 double stroller, 1 diaper bag and 1 laptop. How do people do it with 3 and 4 kids?!?

We ended up flying there to see Lane and Keith, and then drove to SC. It was an added bonus to spend some extra time with them. Each time we visit, I think we prolong them from having any children of their own! :)

The kids did great on the flights! We prepared Alivia as much as possible for all the sounds she would hear and sights she would see on the plane. She thought the take off and landing made her tummy tickle, but really enjoyed the experience. Drew was a little squirmy, but what can you expect from an 11 month old. He loved looking at all the people and made friends with many of the passengers sitting around us.

Alivia's 1st Hair Cut

Our wonderful neighbor, Miss Terri, had time to fit Alivia and I in for hair cuts this afternoon. It turned into a family event as it was the first time we've had Alivia's done. She loved sitting up high on the chair. We just had her trim and even up the ends. Alivia did such a great job!

Getting started...

She was eating fruit snacks so she'd sit still.

So serious!
"Look at me!"

Loving what she sees in the mirror! :)

Happy 4th!

We celebrated the 4th with Lisa, Andy and Colten. We haven't had the boys together for months and it's so much fun to see them play and interact. Drew was so excited! He squealed and couldn't keep his hands off Colten while they were playing. After grilling out for lunch, we went to a nearby park with a splash area so the kids could enjoy being outside. It was so hot, but they did a great job. After only 30 minutes, they were all ready for naps. Drew even fell asleep before we started driving away!

Gator Girl

Papaw bought Alivia a John Deere Gator last fall and she's finally able to use it when we visit. We're hoping to bring it to our house soon, but until then she makes it a point to ride it when we're there. She's great at hitting the gas, has a little trouble on turns and is usually a little slow to brake. She's all girl! We can't wait for Drew to ride along too. She knew right away that the seat next to her was for him. In the meantime, Drew is enjoying Papaw's other ride-on toy inside the house (see the pic below).

Yummy!

Drew loves mac & cheese!
