1st Grader

I'm not sure how it's time already, but we sent our sweet girl off to 1st grade this morning.  She was so excited to start another school year.  She was up early, got dressed in a flash and was asking me to start taking pictures by 7am.  We all made the trip to school to see her off.  She reminded me before we left home that she'd give me a kiss before she got out of the car (trying to make me feel better, of course).  And once she shuts the car door, she never looks back.  She's so mature for a 6 year old.  Drew and I were both excited to pick her up this afternoon and I was thrilled to hear she had a great day.  She enjoyed the new class, likes her teacher, made some new friends and saw many old friends at recess.  She also found out she gets to be the "pet helper" this week.  Jumpy, a leopard gecko, needs his water bowl filled and Alivia has the responsibility to do it.  Praying for another great year for our beautiful, little girl! 

 

Sweet Summertime

Evening Ride

This weather has been perfect for bike rides.  Last night we enjoyed a trip to McDonald's for drinks and dessert.  Daddy and I were excited to see a large styrofoam cup fits nicely in our water bottle holder. :)  The kids are doing great with trips on the road.  We don't go far, but have enjoyed the exercise and time outside.

 

Wright-Patt Air Force Museum

We spent a summer day at the Wright Patterson Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio.  It's such a neat museum that we all enjoyed.  The kids lasted a few hours, but Brad could have stayed all weekend.  There's so much to look at!  The kids were amazed at the size of the planes and enjoyed seeing some of the first planes to ever fly.  We didn't get to tour everything, so this will definitely be one we revisit in the future.

 

Miniature Golf

We had fun playing putt - putt this afternoon.  Drew and Alivia caught on quick... Alivia had a hole in one on the first hole!  By the time we were finished, Alivia had another hole in one and Drew had gone from last to second (beating both me and Alivia on the back nine). 

Sweet Friends

We've enjoyed a few visits with Emmy over the last week or two.  As you can see, Alivia just loves having her around. :)

Independence Day

What a beautiful night to celebrate!  We had a great evening with the Greulich's at the Indians game.   The kids had lots of fun and enjoyed a quick visit with Brayden and Blake too.  After 11 innings of baseball,  2 fireworks shows and lots of candy to keep them in their seats, the kids (and parents) were exhausted.  Such a fun night!

Happy Fourth of July!

Silly Boys

These two silly boys thought it would be funny to wash their hair in the rain.  After a little encouragement from Daddy, Drew agreed to put shampoo in his hair and walk outside to let the rain do the rest.  The rain wasn't quite hard enough to make many suds but they had fun anyway.  I have a feeling we'll only do this rainy day activity when Daddy's home. :)
