Water Play

The kids love to play at the museum. Last week we were able to do water play, sand play and story time too. It's so nice to be home more so we can enjoy these days together!

She Swings and Hits!

Alivia's really starting to get the hang of this. You'll see her miss a few times in the first video, but I posted it because Drew looks so cute driving around in the gator. :) The second video is pretty enjoyable too. She keeps us on our toes!

After 3 days of preschool...

I found her doing this in the kitchen. Since she's pretending to be a teacher already, we'll assume she likes it! :)

1st Day of Preschool

We survived! Alivia was so excited to go to school today. She was dressed and ready before 7 o'clock. She gave me a hug and said "Have a good day with my brother." Too cute! After another half hour, she mentioned Daddy usually doesn't have time to watch cartoons in the morning. They just "get dressed, brush our teeth and go" to Miss Angela's. They're usually there by 6:45a, so waiting until 9a for school was a big challenge.

She picked out her new outfit and wore her new shoes. When I picked her up she mentioned her teachers liked her sparkly shoes.

When you drop your child off at the school, the teacher comes to the car to get them, so I don't have many pictures. It was raining today, so I really appreciate that part when I have a toddler to get out too. She walked away grinning from ear to ear! Unfortunately, I wasn't all smiles when we pulled away. I couldn't believe how emotional it was for me. I was so proud of her and so surprised at how I reacted. I can't imagine what I'll do when she starts kindergarten!

When I picked her up, she came bouncing out with that same smile. She talked about her teachers, learning a new prayer before snack, learning the rules, discussing the weather and her friends all the way home. She can't wait to go again. Drew was a little lost without her. He asked "Where Alivia go?" many times. I think he would go to if I'd let him. I'm so proud of her! Mrs. Smith said she did a great job following directions today. Let's hope that continues!

All 2 and All Boy

I've been so slow at getting Drew's pictures taken. Every time I thought we would go, he'd end up with a scratch or bruise on his face. We were finally able to get to Target today. Here's the latest at 2 years old...

Weight: 31.3 lbs - 84%
Height: 36.5 inches - 92%

He's growing so well. We took him to get new shoes this weekend and couldn't believe how much his feet have grown again. He's now wearing a size 8 1/2. That's a 1 1/2 size jump from just 4 months ago!

What he's up to:
* He still loves to play ball and ride his John Deere tractor.
* He's so loud! He's constantly yelling. While driving down the road, he yells every time we pass a tractor or school bus.
* He loves his big sister! He tries so hard to keep up with Alivia. I know he's smarter than we give him credit for, but he rarely gets a chance to show it. She's always beating him to the punch. I'm looking forward to our one-on-one time while Alivia's at preschool.
* He's a true Momma's boy! I can't seem to do much of anything without him insisting to be held. His newest phrase is "That's my Mommy." Alivia's not too fond of that one. :)
* It's no surprise, but he's a picky eater. He loves chicken nuggets, pop tarts, corn and fruit. He hates mac & cheese.
* He likes to pretend there are monsters in the house. He'll tell us he can't go to his room because there's a monster in there. Too funny!
* He wants to do everything by himself. I think this started the day he turned 2. He wants to get in the car without help and buckle his seat belt by himself. I appreciate the help, but it takes so much longer!
* He loves to climb, swing, jump and run. We really enjoy our trips to the park these days.
* He's a great sleeper! He takes one nap a day (usually 2 hours) and goes to bed at 7:30 each night. Most of the time he'll sleep until 6:30a. And he'll lay quietly in bed until we come get him.
* He's got a great sense of humor and a rotten look on his face all the time! He's always up to something. I can only imagine what he'll be like in a few years. :)

Today was one of those days...Alivia and I seemed to be butting heads all morning. I won't mention names, but somebody told me it's because we act too much alike. :) Whatever the reason, I can only imagine what it will be like when she's 15. This morning we spent a good 20 minutes arguing over what she was going to wear to the zoo. A little later it was about who was going to sharpen the pencil. Eventually, she'd had enough. Here's the comment she made...

Alivia: "Mommy, I'm just not going to talk to you today."
Me: "Why is that?"
Alivia: "Because you're not funny."

Just had to write it down before I forget it. She's keeping me on my toes!

Tight Fit

During rare moments when they play nicely together, they even make room for one another in the cozy coupe. Since they're few and far between, I thought I'd better catch a quick picture. This might not happen again for another week!
