Christmas with the Crockett's - Part 1

We had a great few days in South Carolina with Aunt Lane, Uncle Keith and Cameron.  There are so many pictures to go through, so give me a few days to catch up.  Here's some of the kids opening gifts.

The Merriest Christmas!

1 day till Christmas

We continued many traditions throughout these last few days and are very excited for Christmas morning.  Here were a few highlights!

We enjoy driving around in our jammies to look at Christmas lights.  The kids take a snack of popcorn too.

Preparing Santa's plate...Drew thought each reindeer should have a carrot.  He left one for Santa too. :)

We also enjoyed making cookies today, wrapping presents for Mommy and Daddy and listening to Daddy read "Twas the Night Before Christmas".  Feeling especially blessed!

2 days till Christmas

I just love the tree in the lobby at Riley.  Feeling especially blessed to have a job I love this time of year!

3 days till Christmas

 There were lots of smiling faces at Nanny and Papaw's yesterday!  Thanks for making our Christmas visit so fun. :)

 

4 days till Christmas

Such a fun time in downtown Indy!

I had to bribe them (with a quarter!) to get them to have their picture taken with Santa.

 

 

They always love to see the horses pulling the carriages around the circle.

 

We also went to the observation deck of the Soldiers and Sailors Monument.  Thankfully, we bought tickets this time to take the elevator instead of the stairs.  Lots of fun making memories!

5 days till Christmas

 The kids and I decorated gingerbread cookie ornaments this afternoon.  They had lots of fun and made quite a mess!  They'll be handing them out as we celebrate with family this next week.

Happy 7th Birthday, Alivia!

 

 

I simply cannot believe this girl is seven years old today.  The time has gone by so fast!  We're so proud of the young girl she is and can't wait to see what the future holds for her.  Here are a few of her favorite things:

 

Alivia loves...

• her American Girl dolls.  She has Kirsten and Isabelle and way to many clothes to go with them.  She also has the Bitty Baby "Ella".  They sleep in her bed every night and often go with us when we travel to see family.
• clothes and shoes.  When I went through her closet recently I learned she has more clothes and shoes than I do.  Honestly, it's not even close!
• dogs.  She talks about having a dog all the time!  Every week her class goes to the library and each student can check out two books.  Since the beginning of the school year, one of her books has been about dogs.  She also picked out plates and napkins with dogs for her birthday party.  I'm losing this battle for sure!
• her Daddy!  There's such a unique bond between those two.  She wants Daddy to lay down in bed with her every night, wants to go with him every time he leaves the house (even if he's going to Home Depot) and wants to sit next to him every chance she gets (out at dinner, on the couch, etc.).  I hope she always views him as her hero.
• all girly things.  She loves doing her nails, fixing her hair, wearing jewelry, carrying a purse, and pretty much anything that sparkles.  I find it funny because I was never like this when I was little.  I'm embracing it and truly enjoying it too!
• school.  She has done a fantastic job in 1st grade!  We're so excited to see her learn and love that she's being challenged.  She hasn't missed a day yet this year.
•  ice cream.  Her favorite treat is a hot fudge sundae with chocolate ice cream from Dairy Queen. :)

It was lots of fun to celebrate this little girl today.  We enjoyed the company of family and had fun watching her open gifts, eat chocolate cake and just be her sassy little self.  Enjoy the pics!

Isabelle!

She decided to change into one of her new outfits before we had cake.  Isabelle had to sit with her too.  Due to her cold/flu we cut her pieces of cake and had her keep her germs to herself. :)

 

And this girl got 3 pair of new boots!  We have a pair for every occasion and may need to go buy more clothes to go with the boots.  She now owns 7 pair of boots (far more than me) and has another pair on the way!  (She doesn't know that though. ;))
