Snow! Finally!!

Brad and I can definitely do without the snow, but the kids have been waiting and waiting for the perfect snowfall.  This is really the first time we've been able to play in it this winter.  They went out twice yesterday and again after we had lunch today.  They love it!  And I love that they can go outside for a few minutes, too.  Enjoy the pictures!

Alivia is building a "slide" after Daddy piled snow along the driveway.

Drew finally found the sidewalk.

Thanks to Papa and Karen for the snow toys at Christmas.  They loved the markers and built lots of blocks for their "fort".

He Loves to Learn

Drew and I have really enjoyed this 1:1 time at home.  While I'm dreading the day when he goes to school, there's no doubt this kid is ready.  Here he is working on math while we wait to pick up Alivia.  He'd play math games all day if he could.

Enjoying the little things...

  • We're thankful for wonderful friends like Ryan and Angela who watched the kids last night so we could enjoy an early Valentine's day.  The kids had a sleepover with Blake, Brayden, Nolan and Ethan.  The Simpson home was their second home for quite some time and they always love going back for a visit. They made crafts, enjoyed pizza and breadsticks for dinner and Alivia loved some time on the piano with Ryan.
  • Brad and I enjoyed a date night with dinner at Maggiano's, ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery and went to watch American Sniper.  It was a great evening!  We didn't get home until after midnight and both struggled to think of the last time we were out that late.  My how times have changed!
  • The kids were thrilled to open their Valentine's gifts from us.  We bought them a few math activities, puzzles and saved the best for last.  The new Kidz Bop 27 cd!!  I love how something so simple can make them so happy.  And their faces were priceless!

Happy Valentine's Day!

New Slippers

This silly boy wanted slippers just like his Daddy.  He was so excited to find some at Target today for 70% off and decided he could part with $5 to buy them.  And yes, he still wears shorts all year long when we're at home.  I love this kid!

Go Pacers!

Uncle Craig and Kelly were crazy enough to tag along with us last night to the Pacers game.  We only stayed through halftime since it was a school night, but had lots of fun.  Go Pacers!
