Warren Central had a basketball game at Muncie Central this past weekend. Brad and Drew had a baseball commitment, but Liv and I decided to make the trip to Muncie to see Gary ref the game and my co-worker Courtney. Courtney's dad is the Athletic Director at MC, so this was a double bonus for me. We were able to visit with Courtney and see Gary and Diane. We made sure to give Gary and his crew a hard time once in a while, but Gary did great! And WC got the win, too. We enjoyed the evening but were not thrilled with the weather when we left the school. We took our time, but were so thankful to get home. It was slow moving!

Front and Center
It was basketball day in Indiana and in true Indiana fashion, the weather was fitting for the occasion. Indy was expecting 5-8 inches of snow after several hours of rain turned to ice. We had a busy day planned with volleyball practice from 9-11am, WC boys at Banker's Life at 2pm and Drew had a game in Fishers at 5:45pm. Somehow we managed to fit it all in! We picked up Brad after volleyball, grabbed lunch and then headed downtown. Warren was coming off it's first loss since February of 2017 after an upset by Lawrence Central ended it's 46 game win streak on Friday night. #5 Zionsville brought lots of talent, but the Warriors bounced back to win by 7. It was a free event to fans and seats were on a first come first served basis. Brad and the kids managed to get front row at center court for us. Thankfully the cameras were behind us so our craziness wouldn't be aired on tv! The kids thought it was great! Following the game we headed to Fishers. The roads weren't too bad at this point and it was worth the drive as Drew had 16 points to lead MV past Carmel. It was a slow drive home, but we made it safely. We were all ready to rest after a busy day!

Teacher Appreciation Night
Brad was selected by K'Ja Talley on Teacher Appreciation Night this past weekend. Each player selects a teacher/staff member to recognize and they walk out together on the court before the game. I'm always amazed at how well Brad knows so many kids. K'Ja wasn't one of his previous students but these kids recognize he is there to support all of them. We attend a lot of activities at the school and are some of their biggest fans when it comes to athletics. K'Ja's mom often gives each of us a hug when she sees us at basketball games, too. We're so proud of the work Brad does on a daily basis and love the opportunity he's been given to make a difference in the lives of these kids. (Unfortunately I was on the wrong side of the gym for good pictures.)

Bell is a Boiler!
We've watched David Bell play football and basketball for the last four years and have known from the beginning he was a great athlete. He started on both teams as a freshman, which is no easy task at a school like WC. Many have been on the edge of their seat waiting to hear his college choice and we knew Purdue was in the running. We even saw him when we attended the Purdue football game this past fall. He finally made his announcement on January 5th and we were thrilled! The Boilers are getting an amazing talent in this guy. We can't wait to go see him continue in black and gold. We have every intention of watching him at Purdue. Boiler Up!!
