March Madness

Basketball has been the only thing on our tv these last few weeks and we're loving every minute of it! Even if the Boilers didn't quite show up for the tournament, it's still fun to watch. And we're all Butler fans! During their game last weekend, I caught myself yelling at the tv. It wasn't long before Drew was copying me entirely. We have to be so careful of what we say. He was yelling "Nice!" and clapping when we would get excited. So much fun to watch them join in. :)
As soon as we got the basketballs out of the shed, Drew has been completely obsessed. He stands at the door, looks at the little basketball hoop and says "Outside?". We often take the basketball everywhere we go. He screamed all the way into church on Sunday because I made him leave it in the car. And the cutest part is that he often calls it "ball basket" instead of basketball. I can't wait to see if he'll like it this much when he gets older.

We'll be cheering for the Dawgs again this weekend! Go Butler!!

Spring is in the Air

We enjoyed a few nice afternoons outside this past week and are looking forward to many more. When the kids and I would get home, they would ask to go outside immediately. We went for walks, played on the swing set and spent lots of time blowing bubbles and playing basketball.

Drew decided he's ready for the big boy swing. He'd swing for a minute and then jump out!

Alivia loves to blow bubbles. We're all ready for the warm weather to stay!

Mess

Drew loves his yogurt and wants to do everything himself these days. When dinner is over, he's such a mess. Notice how much yogurt is on his hands!

At the Museum

I was off from work on Monday to take Drew to a routine doctor's appointment, so we decided to spend the morning at the Children's Museum. The new Dora and Diego exhibit was so much fun for the kids. We could have stayed in that one spot for hours. We also enjoyed story time while we were in the play scape area. The kids sat so still and listened to every word. Alivia loved it because they read one of her favorite books - Where the Wild Things Are. I don't typically post so many pictures at once, but thought they were all worth it. :)

There was so much to see - no one wanted to look at the camera.

Alivia the Astronaut

Driving Tico's Car

Pumping up the tire.

Playng in Isa's garden.

Riding the carousel by ourselves! It was so nice to be there without the weekend crowd.

Ready to race!

They loved the sand table. Now Alivia wants to go to the beach. :)

Timeout

I don't even remember what he did, but couldn't resist the picture. He finds himself in this spot quite often lately. :)

Our Big Helper

Alivia loves to help around the house. She recently started taking the clothes out of the washer, puts them in the dryer, cleans out the dryer lent and starts it for me. Last night at dinner she made a mess on the floor and thought it would be a good idea to sweep it up. After "sweeping" for a few minutes she told me she needed to mop. So, I gave her a wet washcloth and she went to work. While I was trying to take her picture she said "Mommy, leave me alone. I need to get this done." Why weren't we doing this months ago?!

She also helped Daddy shave his head last week. She was so serious and proud of herself when she was finished! :)

Murat Shrine Circus

We took the kids to the circus last Sunday and had such a great time. The show was 3 hours long, so we left at intermission. The kids did great, but it was time for their naps and we still hadn't eaten lunch. We talked ourselves out of taking our new camera because the tickets stated they weren't allowed. I hid the old one in my bag and then wished we would have brought the other. My battery died before the show started. :( Here were a few highlights:

  • Mommy, Alivia and Drew riding the elephant.
  • Drew growling when he saw the tigers. There were 11 in the show!
  • Seeing the ponies, camel, elephants, tigers and doggies. (Alivia's favorite parts)
  • Watching the trapeeze artists fly through the air.
  • Seeing the girl stand on the back of a horse while he galloped around the ring. (Alivia)

18 Month Check-Up

You can see we were a little late getting Drew to the doctor for his 18 month visit. He'll be 19 months on Sunday (so hard to believe). Brad was able to take him to his appointment today and he passed with flying colors!
