We LOVE this weather!

Soccer begins...

Here we go again! This wasn't our favorite Saturday morning activity last year, so let's hope it's better the second time around. Drew is very young to start playing, but he desperately wants to be a part of something with his big sister. He's often saddened when Alivia's swimming, going to gymnastics, etc. We felt this would be a good place for him to start. I'm not convinced he won't be attached to my hip most of the time, but we'll give it a shot. For that matter, she may be too! Our first practice went well. Alivia did great! I think she's got some natural talent. Drew's still trying to understand why he can't pick up the ball and throw it in for a goal. :) More updates to come for sure!

Swimming Lessons

Alivia took swimming lessons for the first time these last two weeks. They were held at GCHS and instructors were high school swimmers. She was a little tearful at first, but as she said "the pool was sooo huge!" It took her a session to get comfortable with Mr. Bailey too. Once she gained trust in him, she did great!

Emergency Room Visit

This picture doesn't do it justice! A few weeks ago we ended up in the ER because Drew cut his ear right before bed time. He tripped over my arm, hit it against a stool and it opened up immediately. The bleeding wasn't horrible, but it looked like someone took scissors and cut it. Rather than have his ear look like it had been notched like a pig for the rest of his life, we decided to take him in. Thankfully, they only needed to glue it shut. He tolerated everything so well and stayed awake until we were two miles from home (10:30pm)!

A special thanks to Josh and Beth for coming to our rescue. They were 15 minutes from home, but came right away to stay with Alivia. We were all comforted knowing she was in good hands. :)

The following evening Drew hit his ear again, this time on the kitchen table. After blood started dripping on his shirt, we decided to go to Urgent Care for more glue. This visit lasted another 2 1/2 hours. We seriously considered making him wear a helmet until it healed!

All is well now. It looks so much better! We're crossing our fingers we don't have another emergency anytime soon.

Nature Hike

Drew was a little sad to see Alivia leave with everyone on Grandparents Day, so we went to Riley Park for a nature hike. He was so excited to see the ducks, squirrels and geese. We even had a few ducks follow us around for awhile. The opportunity to explore is something he truly enjoys. We found sticks, logs, rocks and even had a chance to play hop-scotch. I think this might become a routine adventure while Alivia is at preschool. He loved every minute! And I can't forget his favorite part..."getting our shoes dirty!" He's such a boy. :)

Grandparents Day

Alivia had Grandparents Day at preschool this week and was fortunate to have Nanny, Papaw Motorcycle, Mamaw, and Papaw Bine join her. She was on top of the world with all the attention! I asked her to share her favorite part of the day which she replied, "Riding with everyone in Nanny and Papaw's car." Drew and I joined them for lunch at Cracker Barrel before everyone headed home. Thanks for coming!

We're back!

Blogging has taken a back seat lately. :( I can't believe how busy we've become and it's only beginning. We've had something every day and evening this week (including Saturday and Sunday). I'll post our updates soon, but for now just enjoy these two pics. We're loving this beautiful 70 and 80 degree weather in March!!
