Cardinals vs. Reds

Drew's friend Ryan invited him to attend the Reds vs. Cardinals game in Cincinnati last night.  The kids had an e-learning day on the calendar today, so Ryan's dad decided to treat the kids.  They were so excited to see they had 2nd row seats!  Brad was invited to go along as well.  They were able to see a great game.  The Cardinals came from behind to win 8-7 in 10 innings!  Drew was most excited to watch Dexter Fowler play.  He will always remember his part in the playoffs with the Cubs last year. Although it was a very late night for the boys, I think it's safe to say it was worth it. These boys love baseball!

Ryan and Drew

Such a great view!

They each received balls from players after the 3rd outs were made.  Drew got his from St. Louis Cardinals player, Tommy Pham.  Then to top it off, he signed Drew's hat!

Blast From The Past

Remember how fun it was to get your recorder in grade school?  I know I enjoyed it, but my how it's different when you're a parent!  Alivia's class received them last week and she really didn't practice at all until these last two days.  I asked her if she had music or a song to work on and she said they're learning one note at a time.  She was simply playing one note...over and over again.  So I may have taught her how to play "Mary Had A Little Lamb" to pick it up a bit.  Thankfully the weather has been beautiful so she can practice outside.  I sure hope they don't play them all winter long.  I don't know if we'll be able to take it inside!

Fall Baseball

Fall ball has been a little different this year.  They're doing a four game tryout for next year's travel team.  Drew was hoping it would be more than four games, but with basketball quickly approaching, a short season has worked out well.  He's continued to play well and always enjoys the time with his buddies.  He's had a chance to try several positions but would still prefer infield over anything else.  As long as it's not catcher - he's not been a fan of wearing that heavy helmet. :)

Volleyball at The Academy

Alivia seems to have really taken an interest in volleyball this fall.  So much so we're considering club volleyball instead of basketball for the winter.  We'll see soon which she picks!  I've been impressed with her ability with no more coaching than she gets.  And she clearly has height on her side!

Down and ready?  Better get those hands off your knees!

Labor Day Weekend

The kids enjoyed a few hours at the pit today.  They took turns tubing, riding the jet ski and kayaking.  The weather was gorgeous, so it was nice to spend one of our last warm weekends around the water.

A Suite Birthday

A good friend texted the other night to see if we'd want to go to the Colts game.  A certain quarterback offered up his suite tickets because his family wasn't going to make it. ;)  Although it was a school night, we decided to take the kids and enjoy my birthday at Lucas Oil Stadium.  Family, food, friends and football was a great way to spend the evening.  Thanks so much for thinking of us, Mel!  We had a blast!
