Welcome Winter...

...and the flu! I've been down for three days with the flu and Brad came home this morning with it as well.  We're praying Alivia and Drew avoid it, but I can't imagine how they'll be able to.  The only advantage to our early snow fall is it's given the kids a reason to get outside.  They were thrilled there was enough snow to make snowballs!  I'm keeping them out of this germ filled house as much as they'll allow it.

Making History

It was another exciting season for Warren Central.  This time the football team took us to the state championship game.  WC won 27-7 over Carmel!  We've been pretty loyal fans all year having just missed a game or two.  After lots of cold weather we were thrilled to enjoy this one inside Lucas Oil Stadium.  The kids loved cheering on some of their favorite players and Drew even wore his shirt to school today.  WC is the first school to have a football team and boys basketball team go undefeated in the same calendar year.  And after watching the boys and girls basketball teams play last week, it looks like they'll be exciting to watch this season, too.  Go Warriors!

Thankful, Grateful, Blessed

Thanksgiving 2018 - We'll spend time in the car traveling to Logansport, Galveston and then back home after dinner.  We will see lots of family and eat way too much food.  But more important than anything, we'll spend it together and be thankful.  Thankful for our health, happiness and love for one another.  This stage of life is crazy busy, but I wouldn't want to spend it with anyone else.  Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Tree Trimming

The kids were off from school today, so we decided to go ahead and start decorating for Christmas.  Their favorite part is sorting through all of their old ornaments.  They typically do a great job of getting everything out, disappear when it's time to prep the tree and hang the lights and then return to hang their ornaments.  Alivia was quite helpful throughout the entire process this year.  Drew would rather play basketball in the kitchen!  

It's always an argument over who gets to put the star on the top of the tree.  Last year I actually made them write down who did it so no one would forget.  Alivia was so certain it was her turn this year.  When we finally found the paper, she couldn't believe it!  Not only did she do it last year, she was the one who made the note.  It's always something with these two!

Boiler Up!

We couldn't have picked a better day to go watch the Boilers.  The weather was perfect, the game was awesome and we loved every single minute!  We made our traditional stop at Mad Mushroom and met two of Brad's former WC students to treat them to lunch.  Then we walked through campus, taking a few pics for Mamaw's Christmas card (thanks to Mamaw for the sweatshirts, too!) and headed to the game.  Purdue was matched up against #19 Iowa, so we were hopeful we'd see a good one.  It did not disappoint!  We were up most of the game, but Iowa came back late to take the lead in the 4th quarter.  Purdue marched down the field and kicked a game winning field goal right in front of us.  This was our first game under the lights, so it was fun to see the lights flash and fireworks go off when they won.  We had a great day and love making Purdue memories with the kids.

The sun was out and we didn't even need our coats for the first half.  Perfect football weather!

The biggest order of cheesesticks - 20" and 62 sticks in all!  We did bring some home, but it was delicious!

Trick or Treat

 I only had one request for Halloween - don't make me spend much money!  Drew was quick to say he'd dress at Javier Baez.  He had the outfit and wore one of Brad's old gold necklaces.  He later asked for some Hubba Bubba bubble gum, too.  I agreed to buy the gum to complete the costume!  Alivia decided to go as a bank robber.  We had everything but the bag and mask and found it on Amazon for $8.  I think getting away with just spending $10 was a deal!

Nick and Alissa brought the girls for a quick visit before we headed to Greenfield.  Violet and Eloise were the cutest butterfly and caterpillar.  It's always good to see them as we miss them dearly.  We then visited with the Greulich's and Philhower's while the kids went door to door for candy.  I don't know how we'll ever eat it all!  We were thankful the rain held off to enjoy the evening.
